PechaKucha Videos
Teams will submit PechaKucha videos, where the team presents twenty slides with twenty seconds spent on each slide. We won't use a stop-watch to check the timings, so you have some wiggle room. * November 5 is the video submission deadline. No submissions after this date will be accepted*.
Videos should address the Heilmeier Questions
George Heilmeire (LCD pioneer) posited that anyone proposing a research project or product development should answer the 9 questions below. There are 20 slides in the presentation, so these don’t have to map 1:1 to slides, and order doesn’t matter.
- What are you trying to do? Articulate your objectives using absolutely no jargon.
- How is it done today, and what are the limits of current practice?
- What is new in your approach and why do you think it will be successful?
- Who cares?
- If you are successful, what difference will it make?
- What are the risks?
- How much will it cost?
- How long will it take?
- What are the mid-term and final “exams” to check for success?
