Goals
To create a collective of autonomous robots capable of physically collaborating on tasks such as: moving objects; constructing structures; playing sports; assisting human participants. The robot collective should operate autonomously with minimal intervention for long periods and learn from their operation and interactions over time.
Issues Involved or Addressed
As robots are called upon to perform increasingly complex tasks, algorithms for their autonomous control are required. In particular, in the future, teams of robots will be called upon to autonomously complete complex, collaborative tasks. For example, a group of mobile robots may be tasked with moving a rigid object from one position to another.
